Indiana Nights 4: South Bend

One of happiest memories this summer is including my sons Sam and Zeke in this musical road trip. Indeed, Sam has been a huge help to me this summer. He’s taught me how to get my music on Spotify, Apple, YouTube Music and other major streaming platforms. Invaluable. Every few weeks we’re adding more selections from my catalogue past and present.

A few weeks ago, Sanchez Agency opened up for a touring band at LangLab in South Bend’s south side, just off Miami and Lincolnway. Part of the world I grew up in. Not far from where I got my first library card, went shopping at a “five and dime” with my brothers and sisters on bike rides in the mid 80s. In the mid 90s, friends from Cross Country and Track teams would go on runs down these streets in all weather – snow or summer. I know the store and house fronts, I know the trees. I know the look of sky. Even at the distance of almost 30 years remove from daily inhabitation.

This video involves noisy rock and a loud ’07 Mustang.

Last fall, I made a video for one of my O Indiana Postcards. Zeke is the cameraman here. I only recently uploaded it. It’s a song sung in South Bend about coming back there years and years later after growing up there. Could be applied for anyone or anytown.
