Summer June is a gorgeous song by Jake Sandock, our frontman in Sanchez Agency. To me, it paints a picture of a lover and beloved on the verge of a summer night. As the sun is setting, he says, “Let’s forget our troubles tonight.”

Back in April, when I first heard the final mix of “Summer June” for our GL Perry sessions, I got inspired to make this video. In my minds eye, I saw the trees which line the millrace under the orange of an evening sky. I saw the faces of our friends and fans who faithfully come to our shows. I saw their faces smiling with the sunset behind them. I thought a video like this would be a nice way to show them how much we appreciate the people of Goshen.

The making of it was a little more spontaneous than choreographed, but that is how I work any. I ran around for about 15 minutes like a crazy person capturing footage and asking people table by table to smile for the camera (with permission, of course.) The end result is very casual, more like a home movie than a high budget production. But I love the smiles on everyone faces!
